Are People Still Using Yodel?

They don't have a great rep. but i'd been using them pretty reliably for a while. However, with the uncertainty over possible administration i went back to Royal Mail and FedEx. As things seem to be resolved now, is it safe to return? What would happen to in-transit parcels if they did go '*bleep*-up' after all?

7 days? You must be trolling. All Yodel items arrive within 72 hours in London, sometimes 48 hours in summer.

Re: Are People Still Using Yodel?

Here where I live in a rural part of the Midlands Yodel deliveries can take upto a week to arrive.

Parcels seem to get stuck in local depots without moving for days.  Packages then arrive damaged or stained as a result. Also, they do not seem to deliver here on a Saturday  now.

Personally, I find Evri or Royal Mail more reliable so try to avoid sellers who list Yodel as their courier choice.

Re: Are People Still Using Yodel?

Yes Royal Mail are easily the best. I often find that Yodel '24' takes weeks to arrive. Or does that mean 24 days? I am amazed  anybody still uses them.

Re: Are People Still Using Yodel?

They're the worst. I purchased something at the weekend not realising it was Yodel delivery. It was dropped off on Monday around 2pm and as of today (Thursday) is only showing as having been collected yesterday. eBay's delivery estimates were today at the latest, Yodel tracking saying tomorrow at the latest, neither is going to happen and I'm just left waiting in frustration.

Re: Are People Still Using Yodel?

Really slow although touch wood no damages vs evri who are 2 or 3 days but mash up every parcel. Inpost locker to locker is a good alternative in similar price range, generally 2 days from collection to delivery and they handle parcels seemingly well.

Hi there, yes I agree evri are useless with damaging packaging with doesn't end with the shop staff being horrible and throwing packages around on their hard floor. Yodel never had a problem so I keep on using them.

Inpost are excellent, collects 7 days a week unlike evri, rm and yodel , on time, and delivers within 2 days. Amazing.

Re: Are People Still Using Yodel?

Royal Mail is costly now but worth it as I always receive my parcels and speedily too. Yodel I absolutely loathe. As many people don't like Evri, I do. I have never experienced any problems with them. The couriers even climb 3 flights of stairs! I would think its more to with the town they're from or the team they employ.  I have the same person every time in my location, I wish I could have all my deliveries from Evri.

Re: Are People Still Using Yodel?

Royal mail was bad before privatisation, as all things are, as they run it into the ground to make privatisation seem like a good idea & it can't get any worse. Royal mail used to deliver twice a day, 5 days a week & once on Saturday!!! Was much cheaper too, but now, if you buy 5 stamps a year, you've probably already paid more than it used to cost to run in your taxes as an individual!!! Welcome to progress!!!

Re: Are People Still Using Yodel?

Unfortunately when you say   I always receive my parcels and speedily too you are speaking from a buyers perspective.

I hate receiving EVRI and Yodel parcels (EVRI not so bad as I can redirect them to the local shop for collection so they dont get mis-delivered) but the prices are so different

As a seller I can send via Parcel 2 go £2.69 with insurance Vs Royal mail £3.45 - as a seller to add 76p to every sale takes a chunk of profit, Also RM are guilty of leaving items in bins and on doorsteps lately - I had someones parcel (a gold bracelet! It was coming from Germany so had it written on the back of the imports label) left in my bin for someone in the next street and had mine also left in the wrong bins so Royal mail are starting to copy the couriers with sloppy deliveries -I must admit I do use them for FLATS as they are more likely to be delivered.

Re: Are People Still Using Yodel?

I do have a good Evri driver & always leave a positive for him. Yodel are too slow before they even start & sellers, or eBay, say they're 3 to 5 day. For me it's nearly always 5 to 6. I'm nearly 57 & have ordered 1000's of items & only ever had 1 item go missing with royal mail & they ended up finding it anyway. One thing eBay should do, but it won't, is make sellers state who they are going to use for delivery. "Free 3 day courier" isn't good enough for buyers to make a choice. I for one, would never in a million years buy from a Yodel user!!!
