I've sold a car 3 times now on ebay auction. 1st buyers only reply to me was ":)". Second buyer paid a deposit, arrived to pickup the car and drive it 300 mile, with no MOT and oil leak (detailed in the listing). He decided it wouldn't make it, left, then later changed his mind because transporting the car would be too expensive. 3rd time buyer asked for bank details for deposit, but never sent it and now not replying to me.
I've reported then as none payers, and blocked them from future sales.
Apart from only allowing users with good feedback and not those with none payment strikes, how else can I protect myself from none paying bidders?
The other problem is that the car has been re-listed 3 times, so potential buyers think there is something wrong (other than what’s in the description) and its not bringing what its worth.

The cheapest and best format to sell a vehicle on is an eBay Classified Ad. This also cuts out the time wasters and non-payers.
A Classified Ad costs £19.99 and there are no final value fees if you sell your item.
Your listing runs for 30 days, during which you can arrange for potential buyers to view your item, you can then end it once paid. You can accept offers too (you don't accept the offer until the buyer has been to view first).

If you decide instead to list in auction format or fixed price Buy It Now it will cost £14.99 for your listing, and that fee is payable even if your item doesn't sell or you end up with a non-payer, and if you sell your item, there are final value fees of 1% of the final transaction (min. £25, max. £45)

Just to add, there is nothing you can do about it showing in your completed Sold items if potential buyers check that out, so maybe just a simple line to your next listing saying "Re-listed due to non-payment".
