Advice needed, misuse of returns procedure

Hi, I would just like to share this with my fellow sellers out there.

I recently sold a Ps2 game to a buyer

After having the game SIX days he opened a returns request stating that the game "smelled bad"??

Asside from the return reason being totally ridiculous, I had to pay the return postage.

When it was returned, I checked.. It smelled of.. Well nothing. But it had grubby finger marks all over the discs that were not there before.

How can ebay allow buyers like this get away with blatant misuse of the return policy?  Has anybody got any kind of advice as to what I can do to get some kind of justice?

Whilst it won't get you your money back, I would certainly report the buyer for abusing eBay's returns system and for returning the item in a different condition.

There's a button to report a buyer halfway down this eBay guidance page:

You are a seller so eBay will not help you. Add the buyer to your blocked bidders and forget it, it's not worth the stress.

I had a similar issue this week, reported as not as described (described correctly). I accepted the the return and begrudgingly paid for the label. Once received I refunded and reported the buyer as abusing the return process.

Hi, yes I would do that. But the report buyer link isn't working, it just takes to an error page. Apparently ebay know there's a problem and said it will be fixed soon.. I'll keep trying
