My local Post Office Outlets have said a recent and noticeable drop in eBay sold items passing across their counters for despatch. There are still too many under priced labelled items which they continue to refuse as instructed.
The BPF and SD is a fiasco … less sales for the seller and eBay themselves.
Too many listings being taken down and removed by private sellers and business sellers and it’s not 15th April.
Do eBay really know what’s going on in the real world and do they care ?
eBay America surely can’t let what’s happening in the UK go on for much longer. Heads will roll.

I think if they didn’t have these ridiculously inflated prices for Royal Mail parcels it wouldn’t have been half as bad
They copied the vinted model but were greedy too
bad mistake
and then they say you save money with it
computer says no
really, it does

SD is pushing workload from RM to Evri so this would probably correlate with reports that Evri dropoffs are so busy they are running out of stationary.

Their greed is so thinly veiled and yet they still think people won't notice and will keep using their selling platform.

I've been waiting for a couple of items to be delivered by evri since Monday - still not out for delivery.
It's getting ridiculous - for buyers and sellers.
Ebay - Sort this fiasco out.

I find some of the wording in the announcements really patronising too , speaking to you like you’re a five year old , sometimes presumptuous sometimes dictatorial and often just plain wrong not to mention duplicious
then again to be fair other companies do some of this as well
then again when you’re trying to pull the wool over others eyes that’s what you do

Instructed by whom? They are supposed to be accepting them regardless of any size/weight discrepancy, as long they are within the overall size and weight permitted for Royal Mail Tracked, since they are being sent on a business account (eBay's).

My local post office as of yesterday said they have not been told about accepting simple delivery packages that have the wrong postage label on them and intend to refuse them. They checked their Horizon system but no bulletin yet.
Although the official start date of simple delivery isn't till the 15th April, as ebay since the 7th have been converting existing listings to simple delivery, post offices could already be receiving sd packages with wrong postage labels on them.

Chances are the post offices have not been informed of the changes and as I understand it they get fined for accepting incorrect parcels etc, I too would refuse until I had it in print, Just because a customer says it is so does not make it true even if it is.

BUT THEY (POST OFFICE) ARE NOT ACCEPTING UNDER PRICED ITEMS … PLEASE SEE OTHER POSTINGS ON THIS COMMUNITY PLATFORM.

When i joined"thePost Office" in1967 it was part of theCivil Service and consisted of the counters, parcels.letters and telephones. There were around 1800 Crown offices and many thousand sub offices staffed by francisees.Over the years it was split up and privatised. If a sub office makes a mistake handling items in their branch ,real or not, they are penalised (see Horizon scandal).Subpostmasters are very aware of this so have to be very careful not to get too many complaints from Royal Mail.Ebay can say what they like but until Royal mail promise that they, the subpostmasters, will not be penalsed,as part of their contract they will continue to be very wary

I am sure in the distant past if there was a need to post an item one would use their God given brain to work out the process of packing and posting the item to the buyer not rocket science I hear you shout now a decree in logistics to work out the postage Well done eBay now in trepidation of the next revelation to spout forth Personally I will be spending more time on the Golf course.

You ask if ebay care, and no doubt they will if it impacts their profit. But will it?
BPF and SD only impact accounts that are not paying any fees and contributing to ebays profit at all. So if they go then ebay will lose zero.
Its clear this was part of the plan they came up with last autumn - to try and get more fees out of the private seller accounts. (1)Make it 'free' to sell - so loads more people start selling. (2)Move the fee to the buyer - start getting some fees in (we can up the percentage each year) - sure some will leave but those selling 99p items who are badly affected are never going to contribute much in terms of fees anyway. (3)Make sellers use our postage, so we get a large cut.(sure some will leave but they weren't contributing anything anyway and some others will move to business accounts which is a win in terms of fees)
The big question is have they implemented SD so badly that its going to annoy buyers so much that they stop buying from the site.
