Victorian plate any info on maker please?

I bought this plate which is stamped on the back with a kite mark dated 1878

it also has a blue stamp which has "Superior english porcelain" and the initials jd&s and embossed no 797

any information would be appreciated.

Could you post a picture of the backstamp as there are lots of Chinese "fakes" around.
