Any ideas what two impressed marks on two old Wedgwood plates might signify please.
They look like either a V, L or arrow head shape with a dot inbetween the two lines and appear just above the impressed WEDGWOOD mark.
Many thanks 🙂

The V represents the date year and is either1867 or 1893 on early pieces usually with a month letter up to 1907. If after 1907 then a number will be impressed followed by the letter V representing July ( the month letter system changed in 1907)

Thanks very much 😉
Here's an image of the mark. There's another curious mark impressed underneath Wedgwood which looks like it might be a letter Y, but can't be sure.
Also included, a pic. of the actual plates which I think have a transfer print. The plates are quite yellowish with a blue tint showing through. Any ideas what these are called please?

Hi,
I don't know the pattern but these plates were manufacured in April 1870. As the word England doesn't appear the Y must be before 1891 and the arrows are in fact the letter A for April.
I hope that helps.
Cheers

Many thanks {{{Terry}}}.
They're older than I thought!
Not bad condition either all considering 🙂
