I was not happy with the new simple delivery because I sell crystal glass items which need a lot of packaging but I thought that I would try it so I listed a small item which has sold, Ebay have dictated the postage price and I have printed the label for Evri, when doing this I noticed that the label states the weight and size that I have to adhere to so I now have pack to a price not to a safe delivery so unless things alter I think Ebay and me will be parting ways

Strange, I didn't think Simple Delivery labels had the size and weight on them. Does the label have the words 'Marketplace seller' and 'eBay Simple Delivery' on it, as below? Provided it does and the parcel is within the maximum weight and dimensions for Evri then the carrier is supposed to accept it regardless of any weight/size discrepancy, at no additional cost to you or the buyer, as that is part of the contract that eBay has agreed with them.

The weight and size should be set by you when you list an item
and please don’t use evri for delicate objects you’re asking for trouble
switch evri off in your postage preferences

there is no market place seller or any other print out on the label so I do not know what you are referring to

I do not wish to be rude but how often do you see items listed that have a size and weight on them? and if Evri is that bad can you tell me of a delivery firm that you can guarentee a 100% service

the point is that Ebay dictated the weight and postage cost, and under this simple delivery system I have no control

Ebay suggest a weight and size but in the 'package size' there is a drop down menu and you can choose a different size. Plus as others have said I wouldn't use Evri for breakables. Our Evri driver is brilliant but not all Evri drivers are created equal... lol.
You can select to switch off evri and then the buyers will only have Royal Mail available to them.
I haven't used Evri but the Royal Mail labels just have 'Market Place Seller' with no weight or size. However the PO is still checking them depending on what it tells them to do when they scan the QR code.

thankyou for your comments, Ebay have come up with this new idea and because I only sell as a hobby I simply cannot be bothered to jump the hoops that they expect so I am going to put them on hold and look for a different platform. I have sent items many times by Evri and never had any problems and that is because I make my packaging extremely robust but of course this is costly in materials and weight and I am reluctant to compromise my standards to try to fit in with Ebay

You should be able to send with Evri as long as the packet is within the maximum weight/size below, even if the label or price suggests a different size.

The picture in message 4 is of a Royal Mail label (so not relevant to Evri.)

I have come to the conclusion that is me, of course Evri will except a package that is in excess of the weight printed on the label-in this case 1kg. so if I post it weighing 5kgs. why should I worry
