hello every one I have read the new postage simple delivery for small private sellers like me and I am very concerned its going to be ebay who decides what courier they think I should use, and even more concerned the buyer will choose .this is hermes evri the worst couriers I have never known, I am selling my antique dolls and send them the quickest and safe with my choosen courier .fully insured and next day delivery which I have done with my items for over 17 yrs. I charge my buyers a set amount but if my box and packing goes over I pay the extra for peace of mind. and the thought of them being sent via hermes evri scares me and I would not trust them with a teddy bear, ebay must let me choose my own courier but I am told I have no choice, antiques no matter what must be sent in a manner they deserve and the simple delivery is not . simple delivery is just that for clothes shoes and not breakable .not for antiques and items of great value, I have had my dolls for over 50 years and simple delivery is not going to happen, I do not want to leave ebay but I will take my antiques some where else, so many great sellers have gone, but ebay does not take the time to ask why. ebay must look after the private sellers like me but I doubt it .the big boys are more important,

Fickle Delivery?
It's not reliable. No loyalty to sellers of long-standing. Seems to work only if it feels like it.

these 2 couriers we can have for postage .we have no choice
I sell some times larger boxes and that’s Parcelforce which Evri will
not take and Royal Mail have restrictions as well. So where does that make
me stand nowhere .We can avoid them by giving free postage but not all
sellers can do that and certainly not on a few pounds
So why don’t they leave us private sellers alone we are fine on are own
.some use Evri that’s there choice not mine .evri was all over the papers
this week with there track record no wonder they are rubbing there hands
after winning the lottery with eBay

Not 100% sure but you also have carrier selections in your postage policies.
If select in you postage preferences royal mail only them all those services will be available in your postage policies. Lets face it parcel force is a subsidiary of royal mail.
So heavy stuff you will be able to send
Very important to put you package dimension and weight dimensions as you will send it, add weigh it before listing add 2g for a label.

Absolutely agree with everything you say. I fully understand ebay have to make a profit but charging the buyer is a big no no. Charge the fee to the sellers as was the norm a few months ago, and the sellers will factor the fee into their selling price just as Business sellers do. Also the buyer already had protection so why charge them these additional fees. Ebay holding onto sellers funds for at least 2 days just stinks of them investing millions of held funds on the money markets just as the banks do with our bank deposits! I notice the ebay 'Free to Sell' Television ads don't mention the buyers now have to pay charges. Good luck my friend and hope all works out for you.

.buyers are no way choosing mine I always check eBay post first but once
I put in a weight length it’s a suitcase size and I only have 2 option
Yodel Parcelforce but not next day delivery for my fragile items. and
packlink pops up with insurance that you need a bank loan to pay.
. Then I go onto Parcelforce and with next day and insurance and pick up
that’s cheaper than eBay .
I use Parcelforce all the time and on eBay Royal Mail for my smaller items
which they pick up.
I will continue my way of posting until I have no choice .

is coming down on private sellers so hard with the intention to suck us
dry of any profit we make. In there letter they sent out the bit that said
the buyer protection fee will be added to my listing before it goes live so
no nasty shocks for the buyers at checkout.
That tells me not all buyers will be aware of what’s going on .but 4-% for
goodness sake that’s a lot of money on one of my antique dolls eBay has
taken my profit for years from my collection over 50 yrs .so many great
sellers have left but eBay did not ask why
.myself I use to love the fun and friendship that was on eBay but now I
find it hard to have that .as do many now. Because it’s not there . But
eBay big brother computer makes sure we don’t

Just remove evri add your parcel size and weight and let the buyer pay what they want to.
You'll find with the size and weight more options will be available to the buyer just not Evri as you have septically removed them. You list for what you want out of it its simple as far as i can see.
I do have a private account too. or should i say my wife does.
If i want £150 I'm going to get £150 and as i send tracked I'm going to get it a couple of days late so what I'm not in it for the money on my wife's account that is not a business, this one I've bills to pay so need the cash quicker.
And i have negotiated postage so i can always beat ebay on price for that but this account is part of my living, the other account selling off my wife's things.

insurance is nearly £20 and then the buyers 4% added and sent via next day
delivery for peace of mind .some buyers do not know about sending postage
costs. .who will then choose Evri because it’s cheap god help my doll or
fragile items
. I am not the only private seller who sells there dolls and fragile items
and I would guess they feel the same.
Hermes thought changing there name to Evri would cover up there track
record. But now they are rubbing there hands with there offer from eBay.
I send tracked all ready because of some dishonest buyers . For piece of
mind and I will still go to my choice of couriers for my collectables until
eBay simple delivery gives me some thing I can trust at the moment nothing
and until I am told no choice

Sorry to but in but if eBay gets paid for the postage and they send the label that means nothing extra for packaging costs ? I use whatever boxes I can find if I need to but pay for mailing bags and bubble wrap
Bit petty but seems if u want to include this you ave to put it in the buy it now price?

Tracked 48 is also cheaper than “normal “ 2nd class
don’t know why
If anything second class which can take up to a week and is untracked should be cheaper lol

The facts are:
The 2nd class small parcel and Tracked 48 actually go as the same service with Royal Mail. Difference is, the Tracked 48 does get tracked and should also have a picture when delivered. If you buy either of them online, then it will be SO MUCH cheaper than paying at the Post Office. Royal Mail Tracked 48 is about £3.90 at the post office but only £3.39 online. Same with 2nd class small parcel which is also much cheaper online. NEVER buy postage at the Post Office if you can help it. They are different companies and the Post Office need to pay their staff and thus charge more!
The insurance is also MUCH better on Tracked 48. Uto £150 covered compared to £20.00 with 2nd Class Small Parcel.

Yes
i ws just wondering why the more reliable and tracked 48 service is so much cheaper than your everyday 2nd class
339 versus 3.75 online
Well thats what it says on my ebay and I do pay 3.39 for 48 tracked, never bought the new priced 3.75 2nd class but the price must be correct
