I've had this problem too. I contacted Ebay Customer Services on Friday and again yesterday as I have a parcel to post. There is a problem with their system which affects 'multiple sellers'. The agent said it may take 24-48 hours to fix and that there was no manual workaround. I was told that someone from Customer Services would contact me and I did receive an email telling me to buy the postage myself and then quote the reference number they gave me to get a refund. I then had to email the buyer with the tracking number. The system is still down so I will do this tomorrow, but I don't know what problems will be caused by the fact that I am probably late sending the item and I can't mark it as dispatched. I have kept the buyer informed, and they've been very patient, but it's unfortunate that there's no backup when a technical problem at Ebay's end causes this sort of hassle. I'm also worried about negative feedback, but Ebay have said I can appeal if I get any. It's still down now.

Same issue here — I’ve had a Simple Delivery order stuck on “processing payment” for over 48 hours.
I contacted eBay support and they said it was a system problem affecting multiple sellers.
I’m currently waiting for a solution and have informed the buyer.
If anyone has a confirmed workaround (e.g., official email from eBay permitting external postage), please share.

This is a technical issue from our end, it is of my understanding that this is working ok now. However, it is not fully resolved and some accounts might still be impacted, so I will add you to the technical report in case you're still experiencing this, so it can be resolved for you.

For anyone else affected: this is a platform technical issue and eBay are aware, so it may resolve on its own once the fix reaches your account.

When I received an email from Customer Services after spending an hour on chat with various agents, they told me that I could pay for postage myself and then send them a message telling them how much I spent and they would refund. However, it had to be under a specific reference which I assume related to the item number I'd given them. I've done that, but I'm waiting for confirmation from Ebay on how I mark an item as dispatched to avoid any penalties for late postage. The buyer has the tracking details so they know it's on its way.

I will have another parcel to post off tomorrow so assume I'll have to go through querying this with Ebay Customer Services again - hopefully it won't take as long this time to get approval to send the parcel by just buying the postage myself.

A couple of minutes ago I sold another item and I am able to get the prepaid label for that item. I tried again on the original item and I still get the same issue. My worry is that I'll get a postage penalty on the first item so I've tried to contact Customer Services again. I hope that they are getting the message because I asked for a copy to be sent to my email, but it isn't there. I tried three times. I have now uploaded a photo of the Royal Mail receipt and put a message with that so hopefully it'll get to the right person. I've only just started selling again on Ebay so the last thing I want is to be penalised for posting late!

Thanks — yes, eBay have confirmed in this thread that it’s a platform issue affecting some accounts. I’ve contacted Customer Services and they’ve escalated it, so hopefully it’ll be resolved soon for everyone impacted.

Just an update for anyone still affected:
The issue appears to have resolved itself on the morning of 20 January, which was 3 days after I first reported it.
Once the system recovered, I was able to generate and print the label and dispatch the item.
Hopefully this helps others who are still waiting — it seems the fix is rolling through accounts gradually.

Not resolved, I experienced this yesterday (24 January). In my case the label failed but the collection booking was successful. I then had a terrible experience with support trying to fix it. Full details in the longstanding thread.

Same here, thought it had to do with updating my credit card expiry date recently, but it appears that's not the case. Is there a common link on the payment method? I'm using a Mastercard.
