I'm trying to understand the UK to US tariff situation. I just want to buy a used shirt, is the UK still able to ship that to the US without a tariff?

The shirt arrived today from USPS have been passed off by Royal Air Mail.
No, I did not have to pay any tariff, I assume the seller did? This reference to
a tariff was on the shipping label.

There is a block on sending items from the UK to USA at the moment due to Trump's tariffs.

Simple answer, no
The tariff will be payable on virtually all items Americans purchase outside US.
The UK has one of the lowest rates at 10%,some sellers may increase their prices to cover this, others may have it as an additional payment at checkout or it may be payable prior to delivery after reaching US,there may be additional admin fees as well as the tariff.
Many sellers are waiting to see how everything actually works once it comes into effect.

There are import duty calculators that you can use. Note the country of manufacture from the listing to use them. But you won't like what you see!
My understanding is that you pay $80 plus 10% per item now. It doesn't matter that it is only $20 because the President has made it so even 1c items are subject to tariffs.
You have nearly a year to try to understand this before the 2026 midterms.

It's not $80 per item
It's supposedly all shipments will incur tariff charges that range from 10% to 50% OR, for the next six months, a flat duty of $80 to $200 per parcel
The rate is dependant on stated country of origin

Well, I'm doing the experiment. Let's see what happens. I bought a used dress shirt 12usd shipping UK to US quoted as 6$, it say's Made in Egypt, supposedly that's a 10% tariff. I think royal mail is shipping again. Will keep you updated on what happens next. Royal Mail restarts US parcel service – for an extra fee | The Independent

Thanks for the update, in this instance it does look as though the seller paid the tariff and admin fee
