TRACKING NUMBER SAME ON 2 PARCELS

I posted a parcel off  ,simple delivery with Royal Mail, then next day  printed the same label  by mistake for another parcel. I immediately messaged both buyers to let them know. The first buyer said she will do as suggested and refuse delivery of the 2nd parcel ,so it is sent back to me and I can send to the correct buyer.  The first parcel was delivered and the 2nd is due tomorrow. However, I noticed that both tracking numbers were the same.| rang Royal Mail and they said "an admin error"   and weren't  that concerned.  But surely this is wrong and should be looked into.  The 2 parcels were posted a day apart in different post offices in different towns, so how can this happen .  I have noticed  someone else on here had the same problem. so not just a one off and could be happening regularly.

Is your point about both parcels having the same tracking number? The number is generated when ebay generate the label, so both will. Print the label again and it will be there a third time. Just hope you get the parcel back, (I don't know if there will be a fee to pay) and send it with the correct label.

There may well be a glitch in the system - last week I received 2 parcels with the same label on - only one was for me though! ( although it had exactly the same label as the other one)

Poor seller then drove 150 miles to me to pick it up then 136 miles to deliver it to the correct buyer then had a 158 mile drive home!

I think that the system can throw a wobbly.
