Hi all. Is there anybody else that is not happy with Simple Delivery. Custom Delivery worked perfectly well. Why has it been changed? No longer can we cover the cost of bags, boxes, bubble wrap etc. Come on Ebay, sort it out and revert back to custom delivery.

I am sure you will find many Sellers who share your feelings. Personally I like it better as a Buyer because most things are cheaper. And as a Seller, although it is a bit of extra faff to prepare, it is much easier at the closest but mostly incompetent sub-Post Office so SD gives me more options.

"Custom Delivery worked perfectly well." Indeed it did but Simple Delivery is much better: no paying 30p to Royal Mail to collect parcels, no measuring or weighing needed, no chasing RM or whoever for compensation (maybe without success) if something gets lost or damaged.
As for packaging costs I always re-use stuff so apart from a few coppers for tape it costs me nothing — it doesn't even cost me anything to print and affix a label now as the postman brings one. If I did have to buy materials for a particular thing I'd add the cost to the item price. It makes little difference to the Buyer whether its, say, £5 for the item plus £3.88 postage+packing or £5.50 for the item+packing and £3.38 postage as the BPF on the extra 50p is negligible.

I agree, the Simple Delivery system is an absolute joke! Ive suspended all sales until it goes away as with my 'business model' as a Private Seller, its now no longer financially viable to sell. Switching to a Business Account will reduce income by 10% a month, remote Scottish area means local Post office hours and timings make this totally unmanageable!

Its the private sellers selling unwanted personal items I feel sorry for, they have become victims of eBays position on not tackling accounts breaking their own policy and law. If it tackled those accounts who are selling multiples of the same item in different sizes all brand new with tags or hundreds of unused parts and the likes they could easily offer genuine private accounts the old way and they'd still be making more money and offering a much better and legal service to its users.
