All of my items that previously qualified for Simple Delivery now show the message “Simple Delivery is unavailable for this item” whenever I try to edit them, and I’m forced to select the basic postage option instead. Is there a Simple Delivery outage today?

Yes, others have had same.   It's a glitch but we've had no more info at the moment.

Hi, yes it is all over the UK message boards today .  Ebay UK updated their postage offerings for small items today and whoever did that must not have validated the change and it has affected the algorithm for all postage!  I noted on another message board someone said that California do the upgrades to satisfy the USA markets but of course we are not on the same timezones!  I expect it'll sort itself soonish but potentially you will have to revise all items to get the correct postage.  Would be nice for Ebay UK to broadcast the problem.

My current listings have all defaulted to *Evri postage and when I relist, like you,  Simple Delivery is unavailable. These are all Small Parcels.  So well within the size requirements.

*I only noticed this when revising a listing and then spotted all my listings had automatically selected Evri.  I never use Evri as they aren't great where I live for either delivery or collection. Check your current listings to see if this has happened.

Many are experiencing with Simple Delivery today,  you are not alone, and it's been an issue all day.

Friday is eBay's maintenance day, when those up in eBay Towers HQ in CaliforNIA are tweaking and installing new systems.  It can send things askew and awry here  in the UK.

Although the Friday reason for tech issues,  it's usually fixed much sooner,  and this seems to be lingering on far longer than the norm Friday maintenance upset!

Let's hope it is fixed soon as many are affected.

Yeah, eBay support just updated me.  If my listings didn't default to Evri and remained as Royal Mail, it wouldn't have been an issue tbh.

  It's just unusual for a Friday maintenance day issue,  to go on for so long in the day.

Very brief really.  They are aware of the issue around Simple Delivery not working and are working on it. I couldn't get an answer on why my listings had defaulted to Evri or whether I had to revise listings.

When I try to list or relist an item it shows Evri as the only  postage option and then when I click to list it I get a warning saying there is a postage issue I need to fix. I look at the postage section and it is blank and then it will not let me put any postage option, so I can not list it.

I spoke to eBay customer service who said they new about it but would not say when it would be fixed, which is not very helpful. 😠

Dare I say that there is more going on with this problem than they are letting on.   I didn't come across the EVRI problem; I was given an option of EVRI or Royal Mail and I'd never choose EVRI anyway!  I have disallowed people to buy anything right now , which is a pain, but have no idea what might happen should I sell something.  Postage is free to buyer for my items anyway but there is no guarantee what the end result would be to them, or me.

Thanks, yes I saw that in the end.  I had to revise all my listings for today as they defaulted to buyer pays as well as mixing up the so called simple delivery postage options.   So my advice would be to check all todays listings prior to 4pm UK time, if you haven't already, and ensure postage is accurate.  Onwards and Upwards!
