Simple Delivery is for UK postage only, but I am happy to post my toys worldwide. Once SD is mandatory after 7th April, will private sellers still be able to offer worldwide postage if we're not enrolled in Global Shipping?
After a lengthy chat with an eBay agent, I am no more in the light than when I started. She thought private sellers would be able to opt out of Simple Delivery after 7th April if they offered international postage, but then wasn't sure and said she would need to confirm with the "back office."
Has anyone been able to get confirmation on how posting internationally will work after 7th April? Thanks 🙂

These changes were rolled out in haste. Like you, me and many, many others (both sellers and buyers) we await more detail from eBay, because at the moment every answer from CS is conjecture...hence their statement "get back to you latter after speaking to the backroom boys).
Ebay policy makers and CS have no clue...its like they make it up as they go along; hence my comment "they rolled out these changes (and many others) in haste", generally a knee-jerk reaction to the e-market.

I have just received a reply from the eBay agent I spoke to yesterday regarding posting internationally after Simple Delivery becomes mandatory for Private Sellers.
Unfortunately, she was still unable to answer my question, simply describing how to set it currently:
I am sending you this email in regards the chat we had before about shipping item internationally.
As I can see from your listings, when I revise one of them, scroll down at the Delivery Details, specifically "Postage Policy" right you can see 3 dots, click them and you can see the option "Edit Policy". You can see Domestic , if you scroll down you can see "International Postage ". You have set up all the details to ship items internationally with Royal Mail, you also added and rate tables.
So, you have already done everything for shipping internationally. You do not have to do something else. You can ship internationally.
She then went on to say:
Regarding Simple Delivery option sellers won't have an option to opt out by selecting the custom delivery option unless any of the following apply:
So, I am still in the dark about whether private sellers will be able to set international postage prices after Simple Delivery kicks in later this month.
Has anyone else received different information?

In the "Weekly Chat with the eBay Community Team" yesterday someone asked:
Will we still be able to sell internationally after Simple Delivery becomes mandatory using labels purchased ourselves from Royal Mail for example?
And the answer was:
You will be able to send international items as normal - but SD is available for GSP items for the first leg of transit to the UK Shipping Centre.
I'm not sure how that will work in practice. We'll have to wait and see - for those of us still selling, that is.

eBay just about make it clear that on their website that Simple Delivery can be used for international sales, so long as a private seller is enrolled in their Global Shipping programme.
The "weekly chat" you quoted continued to make it unclear whether we'll be able to apply our own international postage policies. They sort of said yes ("You will be able to send international items as normal"), but not very clearly. So who knows!
As you say, we will have to wait and see what happens later this month.
