The usual slight increases and decreases here and there but no biggies unless you're using First Class. (2nd class large letter up to 250g has gone down a little, 2nd Class small packet up by around 10p. UK large letter maximum weight is now 1kg but only if you send Tracked 24/48).
But there are some problems. Firstly there are two sets of prices for sending small parcels Tracked to Europe. One set retains the Zones 1, 2 and 3. The other set gives prices by country, and includes Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. All these aforementioned countries are still showing as in Zones 1, 2 and 3. Yet the prices are all completely different. So, for example, if you send a Tracked Small Parcel up to 250g to Germany it will cost £8.00. If you send it to Zone 1, which it is still in, it will cost £8.75. The price differences are all over the place and some are quite big. This makes absolutely no sense to me. (If you have the PDF of the new prices it's on pages 9 and 10).
One other thing is problematic. When three zones were introduced for Europe to avoid over complicating the issue I decided to use the Zone 2 prices. Theory being that if I sold to Zone 1 I'd be up a little bit, if I sold to Zone 3 I'd be down a little bit, balancing things out. Now, however, the prices between zones are getting bigger and this strategy could leave you out of pocket. If you sell to Norway or Switzerland which are both in Zone 3 it now costs £16.05 for a small parcel up to 2kg whereas Zone 2 is £12.90. Yet I can't find a way of creating a separate postage rate on eBay for these two countries.
Has anyone else looked the April price changes over and worked out any solutions?
