Simple Delivery - Under declarations.

BE CAREFUL

I've just ended a few listings and restarted them and rather than BULK relisting them did them one by one (yawn) so I could get a better sense of this new SD thing.

1st - in my listings view it shows MY old P&P policies still

2nd - when I search for the items I can see the new SD fees.

3rd - eBay had signed me up / changed y settings for Same day dispatch - something I have never offered

BUT

Worst issue was : 20% of the eBay suggested weight recommendations were WRONG!

This had I not manually corrected them resulted in under declarations. Which eBay would re-charge + admin fee back to me.

SO BE CAREFUL

eBay policy states:

c) Under declarations.
If you amend the predicted dimensions and weight of your item at the point of listing, and the item is found to be underdeclared, eBay reserves the right to charge you for the under declaration as well as for any applicable administration or other fees.

@kingeightytwo2013

c) unfortunately you may have walked into their trap with this one as going by your post, you did amend them. I don't know how many, but you said them.

Problem

From other examples we've seen, SD will override your amendments and still issue you the wrong label.

My advice, cancel all the listings you amended.

Re: Simple Delivery - Under declarations.

Hi Andha-21

So if they suggest 750g and I put 1kg (to account for packaging and box etc - the will still issue 750g label?

Oh crumbs!

Re: Simple Delivery - Under declarations.

As I said, from examples we've seen here, that is essentially what they are doing.

Not always the same weight brackets, but yes.

Also within their current terms and conditions they can change things without notice.

So in theory they could change it at checkout for a BIN.

But if you have tried to amend them at any point you still potentially fall into their under declaration and admin fees trap.

I honestly advise you delete/cancel any you amended.

Re: Simple Delivery - Under declarations.

Thanks andha-21

I have taken everything down.

I was willing to go with the flow and see what happens (and see if I get burnt) as I buy all my labels from eBay anyway and drop them off ...

But if they/I can't charge the "correct" postage I am out.

Time to move onto another platform....

Re: Simple Delivery - Under declarations.

This sounds painful - personally I am taking time out and watching from a distance before I relist anything
