Simple Delivery Simple Delivery Terms and Conditions

Hi First time on the forum

I am a private seller. I recently sold an item, which was sent using ebays simple delivery . Unfortunately, the item didn’t arrive and the buyer and l agreed to open a case with eBay. EBay stated that they would resolve the issue, given it was sent Simple Delivery. EBay reviewed this case and decided to issue the buyer a full refund.

EBay stated that they did not receive valid proof of delivery from me and Sellers (me) must provide tracking information showing the item was delivered to the address provided in the order details. Some orders also require signature confirmation.

EBay stated that they have refunded the buyer including the postage and the amount will be deducted from my account. I appealed this and eBay have backtracked and will refund me the item amount.

This is the first time an item has not been delivered using EBay’s Simple Delivery process. EBay state the seller (me) is protected if the item is lost or damaged from the point the item is scanned into the carrier's delivery network and until it's marked as delivered. This stated is not misleading and l am concerned that l will have to cover the cost of non delivery using eBay’s Simple Delivery.

Ebays CS said l would need to appeal cases such as this. I would have considered eBays proceess would negate the need to do this.

As anybody had similar issues.

Happened to me.  Sent small item - the PO did not update the tracking.    Day before item was due to be delivered, buyer opened a not received case.   two weeks later, after I checked with Ebay after emailing buyer twice, so check all OK.  Ebay refunded her money.  I also got a ding on my account.  When I appealed they said I had not sorted it out.  Bye Ebay.
