Just taken some parcels to the Post Office, posted with simple delivery and they wouldn’t scan. Post Office staff got the message “2D barcode not recognised, not valid for tracked 48”
Has anyone else had this? Thanks

Yes just had same issue. Lady at post office phoned Royal Mail while I was there. Apparently they can accept the parcels and give out Proof of Posting receipts.
Ebay has just become an absolute joke with simple delivery and buyers fees.
I'm not sure why people still use ebay to sell on it!

so did you send yours by the post office, and have proof?

No, just been and still the same

Just hand it in at the PO and get a proof of postage as I did on Saturday (this thread post 22). It's fully tracked as usual once RM collect it.

Just been to the local post office in the village, still not scanning the YA numbers. And this label was purchased on the RM website. I asked if they would take it and give me proof of purchase and the answer was 'no'. So I'm left with the option to go to the town delivery office in the morning. Very poor service from RM - get off your butts and SORT IT OUT!!

IT DOES NOT WORK!!!!🙄

I couldn't post mine this morning (4th). Was told to take it directly to Royal Mail sorting office. This isn't open until tomorrow morning so my item will be delayed. Very annoying

It's very poor if they have not got the message they can take it.

Hi
i had the opposite and they took my parcels before I knew about the issues, they didn’t know of any issues and just thought it was local to them, they gave me proof of postage but now eBay wont know they have been sent due to no tracking, trying to contact eBay and waiting for call back as worried I wont get paid for items, seems an absolute cluster

The postmaster eventually took the parcel, but told me to take a photo of him holding it. Will it be delivered?

My local post office refused to take it, said try tomorrow

It hasn't been resolved as of 1pm today (Monday). My local Sub Postmaster told me the instruction that he had been given was to issue a manual Certificate of Posting.
I just hope I don't get a 'late mark' on my unblemished seller rating and funds aren't withheld because ebay has no record the package was sent.
Bloody simple delivery. Designed by the simple I think.

took mine to two differant post offices, 2 in morning 1 in afternoon and none of them scanned, I left them with post office ( i know them ) so once royal mail get them they should scan ( i have taken the risk)

I had the same issue, posted an item Saturday, the post office couldn’t scan it so I purchased a new label (didnt realise then that it was an UK wide problem with RM) but i couldn’t upload the new tracking number on ebay after posting it so today monday its still showing as ‘not dispatched’, despite being delivered today Monday - just got off the phone with eBay who could see that it had been delivered (from the Royal mail website tracking), and feedback left from the customer so my money was released. Fingers crossed it will work out for you too, its an absolute mess

Hi all,
I can confirm that parcels with the tracking prefix of YA can be accepted via a Collect+ store.
Proof attached.
Hope this helps.

Yes I have had the same problem….I took 2 parcels to the post office on Saturday morning, and the same error message came up… I contacted eBay and they said the issue should be resolved within 48 hours…I went again today (4th August) with a further 2 parcels and my original 2 from the other day, and they are still error message is still showing.
I have contacted ebay again this afternoon and they said this is an issue with post office counters and should be resolved on 5th August…..let’s hope it works this time…..they have said I can take it to a counter drop off point but nearest one to me is 12 miles away !!!!!!

The complete silence from eBay and Royal Mail is the worst part of this affair. The UK’s biggest mail company and one of the world’s biggest online marketplaces could not be bothered to keep concerned customers informed of the issue. No banners on the websites, no email, nothing. Dreadful service from both companies.
