So Simple Delivery was working quite well I thought, after the initial hiccups but recently it seems to have gotten a glitch.
On Dec 16th I sold two items to the same buyer, one was listed as weighing 2kg and one was listed as weighing 1kg.
However the combined postage label had a maximum 2kg on it.
Previously there had been a button you could press if this was incorrect and you could choose another option on size and weight, but this was no longer there.
So I phoned customer service. After they had checked and agreed that I had put the weights in correctly on the listings, they then had to put a request through to the relevant department to re-issue the postage label with the correct combined weight. However, they explained it would take 48hours. Because it was so near to Xmas, the buyer cancelled the order which was really upsetting for both of us.
I thought it was a one-off glitch but apparently not.
Because, today I sold two items to another buyer. Exactly the same thing happened. I was only offered a label with maximum weight of 2KG. The message by the parcel size for the label says something along the lines of "don't worry if the parcel is not exactly the right size, as long as it is not over the maximum of 2kg". WELL OF COURSE IT IS HEAVIER THAN THAT, BECAUSE 2KG PLUS 1KG = 3KG.
On this occasion, by leaving out all of my normal internal wrapping, I was able to get the combined package weight to 1990g and therefore I was just able to use the existing label. Otherwise I would have had to go through same rigmarole of calling customer service and waiting days for the correct label.
SO, the system of combining the weights on simple delivery has gone wrong and someone needs to notice and fix it.
I spoke to customer service who really had difficulty understanding the issue. They eventually said they would file a report but who knows if anyone notices that?
EBAY, PLEASE PLEASE, FIX THIS GLITCH!!!!
