RM Click & Drop now marking as despatched when scanned at Post Office.

Before, Click & Drop would only update eBay orders when you manually marked orders as despatched. But a few days ago they implemented a change where if an item is scanned by Royal Mail at any point, it's automatically marked as despatched and fed through to the eBay order details.

This isn't good, because there are times when buyers request you hold on to an item for a couple of weeks and delay postage (due to being away, or because they want to build up a larger order to save on postage, etc). Well, it's now very difficult to avoid a late delivery defect. Before, I simply wouldn't mark it as despatched on Click & Drop or add tracking details to the ebay order.

So from this point on I'm going to have to create a manual order from scratch in Click & Drop every time a buyer wants a late despatch. Just to avoid the late delivery defects on eBay.

I thought it was worth bringing this to people's attention. It's a very covert change made by RM a few days back with no announcements. I've checked and there are no settings to switch this off. It's either full integration with auto-despatch updates, or no integration at all.

There is a way around this I think.

If you send a lot of stuff it might be worth a few extra clicks.

So in Click and Drop - tick/select all your orders.

Press clone.

That will create a duplicate order but the clone is not connected to eBay. You will see the clones do not have an eBay logo or shop/username.

Delete the originals.

Process the clones as normal.

NOTE - LETTERS AND LARGE LETTER TRACKING DOESN'T GET UPLOADED AUTOMATICALLY

I can confirm that this works.  Cloned label when scanned it at the PO did not add the tracking to eBay.
