This morning I went to do a Parcelforce 24 label for a sold item. When I went to purchase label that costs £8.40 I was utterly gobsmacked to see the price is now £14.83 !!!!
This is a 76% rise. Surely there is no justification for this. Unreal!! Any thoughts?

Anything to do with eBay's recent (16th December) announcement of an increase in Parcelforce prices? : https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Announcements/Parcelforce-price-changes-on-eBay-label-platform/ba-p/...
The cost of Express 24 is now £14.83, which is co-incidentally the price you mention.
I don't have a solution other than to suggest that if you don't like that price you could perhaps consider either buying direct from Royal Mail's website or posting the item at a Post Office. You don't have to buy postage on eBay.
Not yet anyway...

Addendum: Apologies, I meant Parcelforce (send.parcelforce.com), not Royal Mail - if it's the golf club then it'd be oversized for posting via RM.
Parcelforce is currently showing a price of £8.96+VAT (£10.75 in total) for a Post Office drop-off. The rest of the cost when purchasing from eBay is their profit...

Hi, yes it's just one of those things. It's an amazing price hike though. Oh well just have to use the Parcelforce website to buy through.
Ebay labels were handy as they contained name, address and tracking number automatically.

It's a really poor business plan,
who ever thought of it should be dispatched in a shoddy box to Yodel...
all my parcels that would have gone via Parcelforce .. now with the STUPID PRICE HIKE .. go to a competitor...

I noticed this price hike. It makes no sense why it would be so high in eBay when other third party providers are so much cheaper.
Parcel2Go.com is cheapest at the moment for Parcelforce, £9.30 inc VAT for Parcelforce 48 drop off at P.O. You can also import your eBay orders automatically.

That only applies if your item is worth £20 cost price or less. To insure for more, it becomes more
expensive than Parcel force direct, which for a little over £1 more gives £150 protection.
That is based on 5k parcels.
Plus (from what have found) the PF live chat are much more helpful when the pick up
was booked on their website.
Last time I had an issue with a Parcel force delayed in transit query booked through P2G, they pretty much said you booked elsewhere, so computer says no . Followed by being cut off.

Yes it's absolutely outrageous - you can go on Parcel Monkey and get a 24 hour service for £10.72 so why would anyone pay through eBay?? I've always used Parcel Monkey and never had any problems - I book it and the PF driver turns up the next day with all the labels. Job done, no stress
