After many years of being a private seller on eBay I’ve received my first negative feedback. I sent a collection of small prints to Germany using the Global Shipping Programme and received the following feedback (translated from the German using an on-line translator). I’ve asked the buyer to reconsider but I’m not too hopeful. Tbh I agree with his sentiment - I think the cost of the postage was probably 3X the cost of the prints - but it was his decision to go ahead with the transaction knowing that cost. If he doesn’t cancel the feedback can I appeal to eBay? Any other advice on overseas postage?
"Unfortunately, Ebay has set up an incredibly complicated shipping system for certain purchases from foreign sellers that you can't miss. It is very expensive and extremely complicated, with several transport companies involved. You could easily send the 6 cards in CV size that I bought in an envelope as a letter, x times faster and at a fraction of the price I had to pay. This is not the fault of the provider, but of Ebay."

I'd appeal that for sure, he's blaming eBay not you.

Hi daviddchb, thanks for your reply.
I've just passed that on for you now, once they action it, you will get an update within 72 hours from now. Just to let you know, please note that this doesn't necessarily means that the feedback in question will be removed, unless it qualifies for removal.
Thank you,
Marco
