NO LONGER ALLOWED TO POST ANYTHING OVER 61CM LONG- WHY EBAY?
just got off the phone to customer service agent-
the powers be have now removed custom posting and although evri, a designated ebay sd courier, allow a max of 120cm, ebay say no.
this will curtail many such as those selling fishing, drain rods or curtain track.
perhaps this just applies to private sellers!
be interesting to hear if business sellers get different treatment.
back to being a really unpleasant seller experience

That's where some people divert from you. Instead of package size of your screenshot, this is what mine shows. Everything else the same as yours, still works, but thats what I mean by everybody seems to see different things. This is on seller hub, are you on that or all selling?

Once again I forgot to upload my screenshot, hopefully here it is.

That is exactly the same but layout is arranged vertically rather than longitudinally. Nothing different there.
You have to have both overweight and oversize in the optional box for the workaround to get fixed. This is totally irrelevant to the listing itself as you are choosing your own carrier who will take your size.
That package size screenshot of mine is prior to your screenshot.

That still has Package size. Complete it as per https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Postage/NO-LONGER-ALLOWED-TO-POST-ANYTHING-OVER-61CM-LONG-WHY-EBAY/m...
or as it said in Rick's original instructions "To get back to Royal Mail Special Delivery that I normally use I have worked round it by increasing the value to £800 and then altering the size to 1cm above the maximum, ie 62 x 47 x 47, ( which you cannot do until you put the price above £750)"

With Simple Delivery you are buying the carriage from e-Bay so your contract of service is with them. The £1 fine for underpayment is therefore levied by e-Bay not Evri (or Royal Mail).

Have wasted over an hour this morning on the same thing - was so easy before, you could measure and weight the item and select what service you wanted or offer an improved service for the buyer if you'd guestimated a slightly higher figure, instead - now the buyer pays direct to ebay who guess what the postage should be, you then see you can't send it so you have to buy the postage offered, then buy the postage direct from Royal Mail or others, then ask for a refund from ebay - I give up with ebay - they are slowly killing their own platform no doubt due to some bright spark in management who haven't got a clue.

i have tried all avenues with this, the post only box still brings up the 61 size.
i have no issues with sd, i like it, the issue is the removal of the 120cm size.
for those who are a business then sd does not apply so the advise they give is at odds to use private sellers.

I don't think there is anything more I can tell you. I'm a private seller - my pipe is listed with custom delivery not SD.

Twice i have asked for a screen shot of your posting options at listing stage with no reply, as too with device being used. PC ebay is different to smartphone.
preview is not a live listing, its live when list is pressed.
i have tried every option post / collect, and post only, the results are the same, with default being SD at 61cm,

thanks, what device are you using?

What on earth? No reply? I have replied and replied. I have already told you that I am on a pc when you first asked. I have posted screenshot upon screenshot of my posting options, what more do you want? ( messages 56 and 57 )
I wash my hands of you - you are so obstinate over everything that I have tried to get you to do that I think that you really do have a big problem with following instructions. You are the only person that cannot understand.
24-07-2025 6:07 PM
I know how to do it, I was trying to say that some people have different screens!!! Which MAYBE confusing for some.
24-07-2025 6:08 PM
See Post 73!!!

It would be even easier to just use the system as intended. Switch off Royal Mail and accept e-Bay's size/weight estimate, even though it's wrong. If the item sells get the label and take the parcel to an Evri drop-off point. Job done.
I've just got a label and found this lower down the screen:—
My first post in this thread included a screenshot saying that the length limit for Evri via Simple Delivery is 120cm so there's no need for a 'Work-around.' The work-around also looses you the extra protection that comes with Simple Delivery.
24-07-2025 8:29 PM
What if people can’t or don’t want to use evri
and what of the NOTHING in the listing pages telling you that you should pick medium parcel 61 x 64 whatever it is if you intend sending something over that size with evri when
shambles

No-one else has your problem with following the workaround:

That's it, really make someone feel useless, I'm sure there are others, they just keep quiet about it. Yesterday you said you wash your hands of cheeky, yet here you are still making them feel bad. You are completely right about washing your hands, let someone with patience help them.

When someone has been on ebay for 20 years and sold 1100 items I don't expect to have to tell them to press the enter key like I had to tell him previously. It has been so frustrating with him as he asked for things twice which I had already provided then he had a go at me saying that I didn't have the decency to reply. Small wonder that I am extremely miffed with the whole debacle.
25-07-2025 5:03 PM
Nobody is expecting you to do anything. Why are you getting miffed, its actually nothing to do with you. Everybody has their forte, and also something they can't grasp, the fact that 20years and 1100 sales prooves that eBay is getting more difficult. I can't paint, even though people say it's a knack and everybody can do it, No I Can't, no matter how much people go on and on. You being "extremely miffed and so frustrated" is probably making cheeky feel extremely inadequate and distracted from the point.
