NO LONGER ALLOWED TO POST ANYTHING OVER 61CM LONG- WHY EBAY?

NO LONGER ALLOWED TO POST ANYTHING OVER 61CM LONG- WHY EBAY?

just got off the phone to customer service agent-

the powers be have now removed custom posting and although evri, a designated ebay sd courier, allow a max of 120cm, ebay say no.

this will curtail many such as those selling fishing, drain rods or curtain track.

perhaps this just applies to private sellers!

be interesting to hear if business sellers get different treatment.

back to being a really unpleasant seller experience

You are still in simple delivery - FOLLOW MY WORKAROUND  EXACTLY AS I HAVE SAID SEVERAL TIMES. It has been pointed out to you 4 times previously.

This is the last time that I will say this, I cannot say it any more.

What price have you entered for the item?

hi, thanks,

well that is interesting, increase price and yes it opens oversize menu!

interesting too as customer service stated the service has been stopped and 61x46x46 is the only option.

listed on another platform now but may come back to this next few weeks.

Re: NO LONGER ALLOWED TO POST ANYTHING OVER 61CM LONG- WHY EBAY?

The first crucial part of "ricks" is you have to put the price over £750, put £800, then refresh, that will bring up sizes boxes under postage box. Put bigger size in (eg 80cm x46cm x46cm). Then you can choose what delivery service you want. Then go back and change price to what you want.

Re: NO LONGER ALLOWED TO POST ANYTHING OVER 61CM LONG- WHY EBAY?

hi, thanks,

I have inputed a price at £800 and yes, the simple delivery is removed and oversize options appear.

however, it will not sell!

i have inputed £100 and those options dissappear returning to the simple delivery and 61x46x46 size only.

what device are you using?

That was your first mistake, believing anything customer services tell you.

On a tablet on google chrome. Did you change the size to over what eBay give you? I think they are the 2 important bits.

Re: NO LONGER ALLOWED TO POST ANYTHING OVER 61CM LONG- WHY EBAY?

the combos are, £800 and yes sd is removed giving option of oversize.

refresh and input my £27.50 price, refresh and yes those options do stay, however there is a warning banner at top saying "this item has been updated to be posted with simple delivery".

of the sales made last couple of days at get label page there is a box stating, make sure you parcel complies with sd sizes and chosen weight, you will be charged for anything over.

I guess it a gamble, £25 fee I have heard for incorrect choice with evri!

LAST TIME - FOLLOW MY WORKAROUND EXACTLY. Do not deviate from it whatsoever. STEP BY STEP. Do not miss anything out. It is obvious that you are not following it from your responses each time. I will attempt to assist you one last time:

post exactly the steps that you take when you follow the workaround not just a rough outline. If you cannot do this I am unable to get you to complete it correctly. Everyone else can follow it successfully.

Re: NO LONGER ALLOWED TO POST ANYTHING OVER 61CM LONG- WHY EBAY?

hi, thanks,

i understand and yes all options appear on the page.

the proof will be at posting,

bearing in mind i now get notification of size and weight within sd at get label

1) will i be able to label?

2) will fee be impossed for going over?

what was your experience at this spin when posting?

Re: NO LONGER ALLOWED TO POST ANYTHING OVER 61CM LONG- WHY EBAY?

The point of the workaround is to be outside of simple delivery so that you can select your own carrier, postage, packing, size, weight. You do not use simple delivery whatsoever, no label etc.

Forget simple delivery - it does not apply with the workaround, hence the term workaround.

I am giving up now. My head hurts.

Re: NO LONGER ALLOWED TO POST ANYTHING OVER 61CM LONG- WHY EBAY?

my steps.

input price £800.00

select courier, evri tracked 120cm and price £8

refresh and all inputs still present

preview advert, £800, evri tracked £8

back to change price to £27.50 AND now the oversize posting options dissappear reverting back to sd sizes.

the issue is the price, tried £100 increments from £100 and simple delivery remains as only posting option up until £800 when as you say the oversize options kick in.

Re: NO LONGER ALLOWED TO POST ANYTHING OVER 61CM LONG- WHY EBAY?

Why have you missed out some steps? Namely overweight and oversize? I keep saying STEP BY STEP.

"To get back to Royal Mail Special Delivery that I normally use I have worked round it by increasing the value to £800 and then altering the size to 1cm above the maximum, ie 62 x 47 x 47, ( which you cannot do until you put the price above £750) refresh page and then preview to check that my postage is still showing then going back to amend the price back down ( in this case to £300). The package size then appears to be held as oversized ( only way that I have found to get to oversized packages)"

This is absolutely mind boggling to the nth degree

that a multi billion pound company cannot manage to fix a problem which stops people doing what the platform exists for …..sending parcels

without a workaround

the most I’ve seen eBay saying is we know about the problem

that was a month ago and a bit

and some people complain that people are complaining

yes it’s been over a month

oh well all part of life’s rich tapestry etc etc

Get your finger out ebay

Re: NO LONGER ALLOWED TO POST ANYTHING OVER 61CM LONG- WHY EBAY?

It might not be anything cheekychippy doing wrong. My newish Samsung tablet does it fine, battery running low so thought I would try and do it on my old girl (using to write this), and it won't do it. Each time I refresh after putting in high price, it goes back to cheap price, and won't go to weights/overweights. Perhaps it's just the age of cheekys pc.

Although it does sound like cheeky is not putting size in before changing price back.

Re: NO LONGER ALLOWED TO POST ANYTHING OVER 61CM LONG- WHY EBAY?

the courier will accept the parcel is in the message at get label page, the ambiguity  is the statement by ebay, to avoid extra charges make sure the parcel complies with the 61x46x46 size. until one experiences this one does not know the charges? it could be courier on difference and then ebay for admin. I have of a £25 fee in the past so I am not taking on chances. Just removed all my items over 575mm and advertised on other platforms. The site is back to being an unpleasant seller experience.
