I sold an item that I shipped with Parcelforce 48 that was purchased through eBay (not PackLink) and it has arrived damaged.
I have refunded the buyer but how do I claim for the damage?
If I try to claim on Parcelforce website it says that if I didnt buy it direct through their website then I must contact the 3rd party seller - which I assume is eBay? I did not buy through PackLink - just through the item sale page on eBay (paid for by Paypal).
I have spoken to a guy at eBay and he said that I need to do it through Parcelforce but they say otherwise. Ebay said if Parcelforce dont help then to use the Resolver website. But this doesnt seem right.
The eBay website pages where it gives sellers the reasons as why we should sell on eBay under postage says I am protected for any damage etc but now seem to be passing me off elsewhere.
Anyone else had this happen and what did you do? Just to confirm this was not purchased through Packlink.
Thanks

You need to claim direct from Parcelforce. Even though you purchased via eBay the actual purchase is still direct with Parcelforce rather than via a 3rd party broker such as Packlink, Parcel 2 Go, etc.

This is the stuff it says in its promotional stuff. So surely eBay should help?
Thanks

That relates to eBay's new 'Simple Delivery' service which Parcelforce is not currently part of.

Thank you. I thought the man at eBay was trying to fob me off. I will claim through Parcelforce and see what happens.

Did you manage to claim via Parcelforce before suggesting this solution? Did it work for you? Because I’m really having issues claiming to Parcelforce! It doesn’t allow to put a claim in if not purchased directly from them.

I would love to hear more cases like ours, we could raise it all together. This could be handed to an ombudsman or similar.
