Evri and post office not suitable.

My post office closes at 5pm which is no good. Both my Evri drop off and post office mean transport (extra cost). I was advised by eBay advisor to use my Yodel drop off outside of eBay and now find that my sale of £2.50 (plus the £2.69 I spent on delivery) has not been given back to me in funds although the buyer was very happy with costs of delivery. EBay have said it will be refunded after 30 days. How do they know how much I spent on it as it was done outside eBay as they suggested? Why can’t they offer more than 2 delivery services like before? Are they trying to ruin the company?

You won't get a refund for the Yodel label you purchased. The unused eBay label they provided will be refunded to your or your buyer, depending on who paid for it. This will always be done within 30 days, most of the time a lot quicker.

Note if sellers set Simple Delivery as Seller Pays - they can get a refund - but I believe they have to manually request it.

Yes, I as a seller have to request the refund. I have done it seven times so far and the first 5 have all been refunded.

e-Bay have said that they are hoping to add more services over time but that's not much use NOW.

I'm in the opposite position to you in that a Post Office and another Evri parcel shop are the only two places I have that are within walking distance for me.  If e-Bay had said we'd got to use Yodel or Collect+ I'd not be selling as the 'bus fares would make it wholly un-economical.
