Ebay / RM and Sender despatching item results in failure to post items

Tried to post some RM / simple delivery books today and they were all rejected, the code was invalid. Looking on the tracking it has

SENDER DESPATCHING ITEM which suggests that the system has auto updated to include this for all my entries so now I can't post it, as they will see a duplicate or invalid code. This is the state for all my books. Normally before any posting it has one entry (??)

So no idea on the solution other than buy my own postage tracked 48 for them and then post them that way and take the hit on all the books (basically it means I make zero money from all the orders this weekend). Yes, I could try and contact ebay, this always proves to be a run around and a bit of a waste of time.

Ebay / RM and Sender despatching item results in failure to post items

I had the same problem this morning. Printed a simple delivery label for a medium parcel to to 10kg.

The post office said the tracking number was not valid. Many others in the queue later had the same problem. I got eBay to phone me, They suggested buying a label myself at the post office and wait up to 2 weeks for the refund. Absolute Joke.

and they also suggested contacting the buyer and cancelling the sale. refunding him then getting him to but it again. Simple Delivery LOL

Yep, others are having the same issue today, many reports of this coming through, you are not alone.

Some are reporting  this to CS,  and being told they would be sent a new label!    Hmmm!   Personally,  with the seemingly hundreds of cases which would need to be dealt with,  I wouldn't solely rely on this to happen.

Seems for the time being, the answer is to either buy your own postage label through Royal Mail / Post Office,  or try again later for an SD label.

Then, for the unused label:

  • If you selected 'Buyer pays’ when you created the listing, your buyer will automatically be refunded for any Simple Delivery label that isn’t used after 30 days

  • If you selected ‘Seller pays’ and offered free postage on your listing, you'll need to fill out the Request a refund for Simple Delivery form for the label that wasn’t used. Make sure to send your request within 14 days of your item selling.

that is a possible solution, cancel the orders and then get them (if possible) to re-buy the books... that is a mess though. I won't be using royal mail though for them, evri instead - or just buy the labels and post and accept that cost and delay in payments and perhaps get a refund (??? how, no idea though as the buyer paid for it)

Of course, either way is going to hit your rating as it will look like you are delaying the posting of the item etc (ebay then will prompt you endlessly to send an item on that they have messed up on)
