I think this has happened before, but the GSP shipping to the USA has just gone wild. Seems to be affecting all my listings (though iits not easy to check - i was alerted by US buyer)
The cost to send a print in a tube is £1,500 on one of my items
contacted ebay but to be honest it does not appear to be being treated with any urgency,. They said I would hear back in 5-7 days!!
They also said I could send outside the GSP if its cheaper BUT with the new payment rules (for private sellers) I dont get paid until its delivered in the USA if I send direct
I just dont think ebay cares about it's small sellers any more

Hi chairry, thanks for your post.
Was this order placed in the end? If so, could you please confirm the item number? This could be related to tariffs unfortunately, if it isn't related to tariffs, then we will be able assist you with this one no problem.
Thank you,
Marco

Hi Marco
No the order was not placed, anyone would be mad to pay this sort of postage
The tariff to the USA are 10% (just over £300) I already removed this from the GSP charge of over £1800, leaving £1500 for shipping
I did a quote from DHL to compare. Next day shipping is approx £100 fully insured
There is a serious problem with GSP charges. Friends have checked and they are seeing the same thing, massive shipping charges of over £1000 to the USA (Note: that the shipping to EU charges look reasonable)
I suspect its due to the incorrect application of tariff rates between the UK and US
I also cannot understand why this is not being take more seriously by ebay from the contact I made a couple of days back. If this is affecting all ebay sales to the USA it should be being treted as a priority issue with priority turnaround.

Please can you advise
Should everyone in the UK now stop using the GSP?
Will the Simple Delivery Change be put on hold as the ebay systems team clearly are not able to correctly deal with shipping?

no this has NOT been sorted and its a total disgrace I now cant sell anything to USA customers and am loosing serious amounts of money due to a "glitch" ???? £314 postage insurance for a £700 item 8 inches long so a parcel 35x35 25 cm weighing 1 kg obviously nobody is going to buy this whos in the USA it states that there are zero import fees so this is for postage/insurance only ! A star wars figure 3 inches tall BIN £ 600 package weight 400 gms postage £300 no import fees as above this is rediculous and is totally putting off buyers so even if this is sorted some will not even look at my listings and damages credibility ! my user name is Marsking

This is jist Awful!! Ebay are disgusting for this... Im having problems now had 3 cancelled orders from USA buyers all same day then I've been inboxes my numerous other buyers. Desperate to by some of my nicer items but can't because ebay is trying to charge them $200 just to ship a dress to USA. A agent tried telling me its a technical issue but I can see Its not. My lower priced clothing (same weight & package size) comes up way cheaper in postage & if I revise the items to make them either more or less expensive the price of shipping either then drastically increases or decreases.
I went to try get ebay on chat again after another us buyer messaged to see when this issue would be resolved and there was a highlight warning issued on help page about UK to USA shipping Tariff ( so clearly not a technical issue) . What's more annoying is if I want Royal mail to collect from my home & ship its less than £30!!! So clearly there is absolutely NO reason for Ebay global to be making the price up like this & I'm starting to think it's a Dirty politics maneuver, by ebay, to try get people up in arms about Trump. I could offer to ship Royal mail but don't want to as I am at huge risk of never getting paid on expensive items. ( I already had a scam buyer from UK just yesterday, but I told ebay I would make a police report for theft if they didn't make buyer pay return & tried tell him keep my item. If items stuck in USA that would make things more complicated. All in all I've lost out on nearly £800 this week because of this shipping disaster. I've noticed though they're not doing a ridiculous fee when it's US to UK. After reading this post of buyer doing this to you, I might just switch international shipping off, I don't want to go through that. If they really want the item then they can use a UK based forwarding company at their own risk luke I have had too for alot things in past & sometimes I've lost my money

Clearly its nothing to do with Tariffs, because Royal mail woukd still only charge £30 for my items to USA but Ebay is trying to charge buyers $200!! They're playing Dirty politics games

Same I've lost £800 in 3days. 3 orders cancelled & 2 urgent buyers have not been able to follow through because ebay wants to charge them $200 in just shipping instead of $37. A absolute disgrace. Dirty politics is being played by ebay here to cause chaos. No excuse of tariffs when RM still only want £30 for same shipping

we need somone from Ebay to enter this thread and properly explain what is going on .As above in my last post apart from the obvious loss of customers my credability as a seller is compromised as some customers might never buy from me again due to this nonsense .Another point to made is that GSP is also l
oosing money as no one in their right mind is going to use their services certiany in regards to the USA !

just checked one of my past sales of a rare card 8x4 inches parcel weight 400 gms the GSP charges although still outrageous were £300 so 10% of the sale price now it shows as £1100 postage if I was selling it today looks like they are charging between 30-50% of the sale price on the more expensive items
