DPD delivering to Collection Point instead of home address?

Hi, has anyone else had this?  I sent a parcel via DPD (was fragile so wanted possibly a better handling experience) on Tuesday.  Have just tracked it and it says 'your parcel is ready for you to collect at your DPD Pickup Shop.  

It doesnt say anything about not being able to deliver to the recipients home address .  What on earth is going on?  Surely DPD should re-deliver next day if  no one was home.  

Im checking with the recipient to see what updates they have had.

The customer themselves can set delivery options with MyDPD. One such option is to choose delivery to a parcel shop.

This can be done at MyDPD account level - so all deliveries for that customer at that address should follow their delivery request.
