Collection Code not shown.

Buyer didnt show collection code after collecting the item. And they never show it.

What am I meant to do?

You can either ask the buyer now to give you the code via message or ask them to confirm they’ve collected in person through the item’s order details.

Your payment will be on hold anyway because you're a new seller.    It will be released but probably after the max amount of time which is 30 days.

Does anyone know if this is still the same now that payments are being held back til delivery or collection?

I've sold an item and the buyer turned up without warning me.  This left my other half in a panic and of course didn't get the collection code from the buyer...... Buyer isn't answering my messages either.

If you go on the ebay website  ( you cant do it on the app ) you can manualy mark the item as collected or dispatched.

buyers often cant find the collection code so ive had to do it manualy a few times. Sometimes the buyer will click on the postage option then message you to ask to collect so no code is generated. 

Its another ebay system with many flaws. 

Im not sure how this affects payouts now as ive not done had any collections this month. Im guessing it may still be pending for 14 days but i dont know for sure

I've tried to mark as dispatched and it tells me the item is for collection - won't let me mark as sent.

The 30 day max  being referred to here is if you are a new or returning seller.

If you are not either of these and sold an item which is a collection item but did not receive a code then the payout is held for 14 days.

Maybe that's another change they made... I haven't had a collection lately to confirm it.

You cannot mark a collection item as sent as you could once before.  Now a buyer for a collection item should bring a 6 digit QR code.  This you have to scan or enter the numbers manually in the order details , and this is the only way you can mark as collected.

It is advisable to not release a collection item,  if the buyer does not bring this code with them.

As mentioned, the buyer took my collection details and I asked him to let me know when he would collect ... He didn't, he sent a courier and my partner dispatched it (thinking I'd just forgot to pass a message over)



I'm really struggling with these latest fees and changes... Not friendly for seller or buyer!

Excellent,  and that's how the system now works,  no tracking / no proof of delivery / collection, then payout is released after 14 days.

Just a tip,  not sure if it's been mentioned , but be aware if they sent a courier to collect their item , they void their claim under eBay's 30 day MBG, for any future case for a refund,  for item not as described.
