Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

Hi, Have been with ebay, buying and occasionally selling privately for over 20 years. Tonight tried to list an item. Gives no option other than simple delivery. Tried all the suggestions on previous posts here, none of them work. The advanced options for postage has been removed completely. I always use my computer for this kind of thing instead of apps on my phone. My answer to this is GOODBYE EBAY

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

Listed 3 items yesterday and advanced setting are still available I clicked
custom delivery and was able to list on 3to 5 days
my choice and it gives me the buyer info. What I have listed has been
changed to mostly SD so eBay will not release the buyers info until I load
down there label but my free post was tampered with charging seller this
amount.

This whole mess is run by the cartel and bandits .no control anymore .I
really am getting to the point after 20 yrs of being a eBay member to say I
am off
Let’s have back the eBay of yesterday who charged you a percentage .gave
you £1 listings and wished you happy birthday.

and for any reason who you were let down by they gave you a £20 voucher .I
no dream on that was in a different world now which is full of sharks
snapping at your ankles

We old time little sellers can moan but new members are listing under new
rules and excepting it
But eBay says quote if you do not like it leave and others will fill your
space .I am not far off getting 10.000 feed backs that must make a
difference .Nope at all

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

Well no point searching then. I think it’s down right outrageous absolutely
disgusting that the only thing I have left is the item I am listing.
They control post they control who and they control are money until an item
is delivered.
Might just as well send a message saying use the worst courier in the world
but that’s not possible because they use them all ready

The great evri who delivers broke chucked over the wall donkey time and if
it arrives it’s a bonus . My purchase of a new Dyson vacuum is still on
walkabout .lost broke found sent back to seller .

And as a buyer paying 4% protection money in case I meet a bad seller
that’s a laugh because that’s what eBay has been doing since 1995
protecting us all. now they are charging us all who want to buy a rip
off fee we are paying the profits that eBay enjoys having shares in SD
.I was hoping to get my last feedbacks up to 10.000 from joining eBay over
20 yrs ago but I am sad to say I might not be around then.
The eBay I used to know fun fare £1 listings happy birthday messages
.good fee’s every one of us was treated fare .that eBay has gone along with
hundreds of us going out the door .
the new buyers sellers are fine joining now as this is the norm for them
.but knew sellers selling for pocket money etc will not fill the coffers
like we do

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

On the package size, can you not scroll to bottom, then choose "switch to custom postage" ? Click on that and for me at the moment I can choose my own postage.

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

Advanced options was no longer longer showing up when I tried new listings a few weeks ago. And no option for over 20kg
And this evening all my listings have now all changed to SD last night they were as I set them tracked 48 & Tracked 24.
But my mother's listings still have postage as she listed

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

I do not know how I can sell over 10 kilo’s as I used other options 3 to 5
days with mostly parcel- force next day for my breakables. Now if I do
free post eBay charges me a fixed amount seller pays so and so.
I can not get the buyers details unless I down load there label buyer
chooses for god sake it’s my items they are buying but I have no say in it
at all.
How can I send my antique dolls next day when the buyer chooses evri
If I have no choice they are staying home .
I have collected all sorts over 60 yrs and I want to list but I just do not
have the get up and go with eBay anymore.
So many of my friends have left and more are so fed up they are leaving
once there items are sold.
EBay says they will not miss us but I put money on it they will

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

If you don't want to use Evri you can opt out and only use Royal Mail

https://www.ebay.co.uk/ship/prf/simpledelivery

You can send up to 20kg

You can select seller pays for postage - although I think that means the 4% part of the buyer protection will be added, so better to have the postage paid by seller, not a huge difference but a difference.

Finally if your item is higher value than Simple Delivery covers, £750, the postage option will change to allow custom.

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

I usually use Evri and asked to opt out of RM.
The next order from me - the client chose RM!
So even though I closed the toggle on RM as a preference it still went ahead and offered RM to the buyer.
I just can't win here!

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

The only thing left I can control is list everything else is eBay buyer do
what I say or no sell .eBay is like a cash cow keep are monies charge are
buyers the last I checked I live in the uk not Mexico and the cartel runs
the lot but bandits are everywhere
.I use royal mail because I live rural and disabled and I can book a
pickup but as I do not know my buyers details I have to down load there
label. and see who the buyer has chosen.as I have no choice or say in the
matter

Absolutely outrageous my listings have been changed to SD my free label has
been taken over seller pays ? I do at the moment have 3to 5 days left
that’s coming to an end and I can send my treasured items with my trusted
courier .
as a buyer I am being ripped off with buyer protection biggest bull—- and
con I have ever known.
The biggest danger round eBay is eBay .loads of us little private sellers
want to list but it’s hard to get the get up and go anymore as we are down
trodden from the time are listings go live .and the worst of it we can not
do anything about it.

New sellers buyers are coming and they except the new era of SD so eBay is
happy .but quote if you do not want to list just end your listings and
close your seller hub .that says it all
.we have made eBay millions since they started off in a bedroom .its a
shame they have forgotten who buttered there bread .the fun times yes there
was fun times .£1 listings even a birthday wish message and if for any
reason you had a issue they would give you a voucher to spend .where has
that gone

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

Of course you can choose who you use. Go to postage preferences and switch EVRI to the OFF position then your buyers only get the choice of Royal Mail

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

Yeah? I went to 'postage preferences ' and switched RM off because I only wanted to use Evri.
First sale I got with SD - they let the client use RM.
It's ridiculous!

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

I have done a few drafts today, ready to list tomorrow, and the option to use advanced postage settings is still there.  Due to the items I sell, they often have a high value, or are silver or gold, which I don't think SD covers in case of loss or damage. Maybe for an experiment you could try listing an item under the coins category. During the week I sent a 20kg item via Parcelforce.

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

I use parcel-force for my antique dolls next day service on a free post
listing. But eBay gave me a free post and charged me more and the insurance
was no where near PF next day listings.
It’s hard to get what I would like for my listings as eBay buyer changes
the goal posts and will not give me the buyers details which are on there
label.
I will keep trying to get a courier I trust but every way it’s evri and not
if the skys go black will I use them.
It’s just not fair that I can not list as always a safe courier and a time
my buyers expect
But it’s not fair that my buyers have to get charged rip off prices to buy
my items
And the worse thing I am being asked is why are you making more money on
extra’s
I tell them it’s not me but eBay . Sad times

Re: Avoiding Simple Delivery

Doesn't let you do that anymore. Just tried to relist a similar item and it updated automatically to simple delivery even though it needs to be sent by parcelforce due to the size I'm really getting peed off at ebay.
