I have marked this as helpful and gone back into drafting a few new listings with the changes.
If it doesn’t work then prepared to call it a day on the site after receiving one sale in the past two and a half weeks. As a private seller for over 22 years it is pretty much unheard of so these changes with both buyers and sellers it appears overall have not been well received.
However there is no advanced setting feature I can see to taking control of the tracked postage from Simple Delivery. I wish to use my existing choice of couriers via P2Go with an account or Royal Mail and also get a nominal amount to cover my packing costs when posting out.
Please can someone advise with clear instruction step by step on how you do these changes to continue my listings giving me the option to use my own choice of couriers depending on the item I am sending?
On the FAQ on eBay it says you can opt out of SD but hey ho, no details provided on how to do it and if you do list your previous delivery options will be overridden by SD so accepting this format to all future listings .....so it seems.
Many of my items are free postage but not prepared for eBay to control what courier or Royal Mail service I use for my goods to be sent and then add that onto the seller protection fee also. The couriers are paying eBay so they are accumulating a lot of sellers money and then decide when you get paid whilst you are waiting for 100% customer satisfaction. Not from my experience.
You can please most of the people most of the time but not all of the people all of the time.

Oops meant to say eBay pays the couriers.
eBay deduct the postal charge from your sales....and the remainder is eventually paid out to you!

As others said we can use custom postage until and if they make special delivery compulsory. Here’s some pics of each step when listing or revising or sell similar etc
if you want to add for packaging you can increase the actual postage cost too
this is for the website in my selling
the app is a little less complicated

Thanks for providing all the pictorial stages edwardian -dreams and sure your helpful guidance will be useful to many others on the forum 🙏
However there is no link on delivery to enable me to switch to ‘advanced options’ so either doing something wrong or blinded by a system that is intended to cause unnecessary confusion.
It would be so much simpler to just click with button options what you needed to do I.e. stay as you are with the system you already use or try a new system if it floats your boat.
I don’t think there would be a lot of taking up on the latter especially when it is has been introduced to financially disadvantage you further as a seller.
I may need to get in touch with a customer agent to spoon feed me through the process!

It’s there the link to advanced options although eBay sneakily hides it
but good luck with customer services

I am like you after 20 yrs on eBay I am lost at what is happening to us small private sellers and there buyers. and with SD it’s very controlling. Yes we have free listings but everything else is controlled by ebay
I have tried over the last few days to relist but eBay has blocked my courier to use even free post it was £18.85 eBay wanted to take off me
so having no joy I decided to do sell similar and that gave me my postal choices .where eBay sits I clicked advanced settings and opened up postage option clicked that and my couriers were all there and chose my RM 48 tracked option on this item. £3.55 brillant
as a buyer this week I bought a vacuum got charged with buyer protection seller set it via SD last week it went from delivery smashed then delivery then smashed I and the seller have no clue where it is
so I can not have a refund until it shows up
no promise of if it’s lost or broke will will cover it said eBay said Bol———— they told him to sort it with Evri he has £20 not £281 how ? SD has chucked him under the bus

I find feeBay a bit like George Lucas and the original Star Wars movies.
Constant meddling, fiddling and editing.

After struggling through the maze wasting a lot of time and intent on not being thwarted I realised from the forum that there are a number of variations on the information displayed. I guess some are using iPhones, personal computers or iPads and the format shown could vary on the item being posted.
I was using the latter and in my drafts was able to upload one item with selecting my own tracked label that includes the cost of packing the item. However in another draft (same iPad) it wasn’t allowing me to use another carrier of my choice and overriding my policy for postage delivery to SD. That gave me the option of just Royal Mail and Evri so decided to try free postage but the link was greyed out!
I have decided to do my listings through the personal computer as there may be some consistency through that route to achieve what should be in eBay words ‘ simple.’
Simple in MHO only defines the eBay cited ‘clowns’ who are clearly intent on disadvantaging private sellers who helped build their company. Without the army of private sellers the site would be just retailers mimicking the likes of Amazon and other online businesses and becomes of little interest to a great many buyers who are collectors, vintage hunters, homemakers and those looking for the ultimate bargain.

Humour is the spice of life 😊
FeeBay is like a box of chocolates you never know what you are gonna get next .

Yes, so easy using the 'advanced' option, to continue charging buyers the EXACT postage the seller pays.. simples. Surprised Ebay have made it so easy.

There were clearly many so called private sellers out there who were not. So eBay put everybody in the same boat and tarred them with the same brush. It was a way to implement sweeping changes. However it would have been easy for eBay to just remove those suspected or were reported from their site. They chose to ignore it lining their deep pockets from the bogus private sellers on the site until government intervention.
However all these changes eBay have introduced are certainly bound to cause confusion, upset and disarray when clear guidance is lacking, hidden or misguided. That is the intention and more about FeeBay and its increasing greed by whatever means they can.
This was easily achieved by setting up with Apollo International who are an American equity firm that owns EVRI and eBay has shares in this multi national company and what remains as Royal Mail (now sold by our government) who robbed honest postmasters in the UK. That says it all.
We remain little fish in a big pond so it is the sink or swim scenario for us that decide to remain or find fresh waters.
