Unable to verify bank account (new accont)

Hi everyone!

So I just created a brand new account. It instantly got suspended for reasons I don't really know, but after speaking to a nice agent last night and verifying some things, she managed to take the suspension away and told me that the account was now good to use. So I then managed to add a debit card and purchased a few minor things without any hassle.

However, this afternoon I tried to add a bank account for future sales, and just keep getting a "We couldn't verify this bank account" error message. The account is with Barclays and obviously I made sure all information was entered correctly. 

Now, I do have another eBay account that's around 9 years old. It's a Private account currently, but I'm being forced to change it to a Business account in X amount of days due to selling a lot of laptops of late for myself and family. Just to clarify, I'm not a business, and never have been! I just got a bit too excited selling when eBay quite recently made it so that you didn't have to pay selling fees - Had I known that it would effect my account I would never have listed the things that I did, but I digress. I'll just go ahead and update that account to Business and take it on the chin. I no longer have the bank account I've been having issues adding, on my other account, it was only a secondary one anyway and was never set to primary. So I don't see why it's constantly being rejected. Could it possibly be that on the card it only states initials for my first and middle name, and yet on eBay I registered in my full forename, or does that not matter?

Also, just to clarify, I had asked eBay many, many weeks ago if it was possible to have a second account, as long as I obviously adhere to the rules, and was told that it was fine. As my girlfriend now lives with me, I thought that an account where she can buy, and also sell the odd item of clothing, that's separate to my own wouldn't be a bad thing. It's registered in my name due to the fact that she doesn't have great credit history, and has a very basic bank account.

Lol. Well, eBay is a joke. So now my account is suddenly suspended again, despite an agent earlier today saying that the account was fine, and that I was allowed to use a secondary account. Pathetic. In honesty I have used it for a while more for the nostalgia than anything else for what it used to be a long time ago. Marketplace has it's flaws, but at least selling there you're not allowing people to break your items and then return them for a refund a month later I guess.

It may be suspended because you have not correctly or fully registered for eBay's Managed Payments.

You need to provide eBay with details of a bank account and have this account verified.  The usual method here, is for eBay to send 2 micro deposits into that nominated bank account for you to receive,  and confirm to eBay.

Once this is completed,  you will be able to list items for sale,  and receive payouts from those sales.

If there is an issue with the registration contact eBay Customer Services,  who have full access to your account,  and can see where the issue lies and explain the steps you now need to take.

Lines open between 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays.

9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.

I recommend contacting CS very first thing in the morning, when the lines first open,  as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

You need to sort the issues with your 9 year old account first

While you can have more than one eBay account you cannot open one while you have an account under investigation nor open an account to bypass any restricted accounts,nor can anyone else at the address open accounts and if they already have one it's possible eBay will suspend these too.

Upgrading the original account may allow you to open a new account but eBay have been known to close these after a period of time as well
