I've recently made my first sale. However I'm not sure of the procedure of transferring it into my Ebay account and then into my own bank account.

eBay have probably put the payment on hold because you're a new seller. It may be released once the postal tracking shows delivery or they might hang onto it for up to 30 days. You will get email notification.
Once it's in your eBay account in seller hub hover over the Payments tab and select Summary. Or in My eBay go to Account > Payments. You'll get a big blue banner with eBay balance on it. Click the arrow on the right and it opens up a box where you put how much you want to withdraw.
Or here's a direct link:
https://ppcapp.ebay.co.uk/myppc/wallet/list
Click on the arrow on the blue box.
From 4th February eBay will delay when private sellers receive payment until the postal tracking confirms that the item has been delivered. Payments for items sent by untracked delivery will be given to seller after 14 days.
