Payments on hold

We've been selling on eBay for over 21 years. Our business changed directors and names last month. I updated the account with the new name and the new stakeholders, I've uploaded the documents from companies house, Name change 4 times, Key holders directorship 3 times, driving license 2 times. Each time it's reviewed I get asked to upload another document that I've already uploaded. This has been going on for a week and a half, with our funds on hold all this time. They are growing at an alarming rate, we are sending products out but not getting paid for them. Is the verification team a law unto itself?

Payments on hold

hi there

we are having a similar issue, i was advised the information must match exactly. Did you get your issue sorted? if so how?

Payments on hold

We just persevered until it was sorted. The problem seems to be that eBay
don't communicate with themselves very well. We had to upload the same
documents over and over again until someone realised that they had actually
got all the documents. I get the impression that someone is at the other
end ticking boxes without actually looking at the issue, so if it doesn't
comply at that moment they will ask again for what has already been done
rather than look back.

Payments on hold

Hi Richard

Thank you.  We were recently purchased by a larger company so our Company house records did'nt match. The owner stakeholders are Irish so don't have NI numbers and when you try and add a stakeholder with the Irish PPS no. the form doesn't accept it which is very frustrating.

regards

I feel your pain. When we managed to speak to someone verbally from the UK
we found that a lot more help was available. I saw something similar with
Amazon a year or so ago. I think it had to be done through companies house
to sort the NI number out or something that was compatible, I doubt eBay
will be able to help with that as they are all about tickboxes.

The Companies house submission doesn't include a NI number so i dont know what eBay are matching that up with anyway.

Payments on hold

eBay has 'amended' its payments on hold rules TWICE within the last two weeks !!

The original decision and rule change stated that if items were sent untracked, with no proof of delivery, the Seller had to wait 14 days, even if the Buyer left Positive feedback, (which obviously confirms delivery)

After thousands of complaints from angry Sellers, eBay's payments on hold rules have changed again !!

Now it transpires, items sent via standard mail (without tracking and without proof of delivery) WITH A VALUE OF LESS THAN £10 will get the money released with just POSITIVE feedback two days later.

(Sellers no longer have to wait 14 days to get their money for low value items).

I somehow think this is too little too late, with many eBay Sellers already leaving the platform
