There's currently no incentive to use eBay balance/funds over other payment solutions
If I have £100 in eBay and want to make a £100 purchase on eBay, it's makes more sense for me to draw that money out to my bank, and just pay for eBay purchases via another payment provider where I get some kind of bonus, or on a credit card where I get 1% cashback. It even makes more sense for me to just use my regular banking card, where something like O2 Airtime rewards will detect an eBay purchase and give me 1-2% cashback sponsored by eBay itself.
Would it not make sense to incentivise the eBay funds being used directly on eBay? A points system? A spend X get X system? A bronze/silver/gold yearly spend reward tier? Cashback when spending eBay funds? Reasons to encourage us to shop on eBay with our eBay balance?
Seems like a missed opportunity to keep people on eBay, and keep funds in eBay.
