Getting Paid Policy

Am I going mad or does the new Policy on getting paid state for Private Sellers....

Getting paid for items you've sold | eBay

Items sent by post

  • For tracked orders with a subtotal (excluding postage, fees, taxes) of £750 or less, funds will be available instantly if positive feedback is received from the buyer after delivery confirmation

So an item I sold for £60 (excluding postage) was received by the Buyer & positive feedback was received & Tracking showed as delivered so I believe I should have been paid instantly ... please someone tell me if I am reading the above incorrectly.  I had to wait 2 days.

I contacted Customer Service to ask for the funds to be released & got told I had to wait the 2 days as that was the policy ?????

Am I just being dense ?

Nope, you're not being dense,  it just seems that eBay help page has a glaring error?

On the same page just a few lines apart one can see:

The funds will be added to your eBay balance typically 2 days after delivery confirmation, unless the transaction is placed on hold.

Under this a few lines down is this:

  • For tracked orders with a subtotal (excluding postage, fees, taxes) of £750 or less, funds will be available instantly if positive feedback is received from the buyer after delivery confirmation.

Mmmm,🤔 personally I would go for the former ' info'  that is,  payouts are released when tracking shows delivery,  2 days after that delivery date.

Feedback  can release a payout sooner,   if the item is under £25.

As if peeps aren't confused enough with SD !  😐

Just adding....  I've read that page again,  wonder if the £750 tracked means items which are Not sent  with SD ??

I used Royal Mail directly not SD.

I listed the item before the new SD rules came into force so was able to be a grown up and decide for myself, lol.

Great statement !  😊

In which case from your original question ,  perhaps the £750  >>  feedback releases payouts sooner,  applies to you ?

Not according to a very irrate CS Agent who said I had to wait 2 days, I asked her if she could explain the policy, she told me they were trained about the policy and I had to wait 2 days... again I asked if she could explain the policy she said we were going round in circles and ended the call...gawd bless her, NOT.

You are correct in your understanding - I queried this with one of the Community Team when I had positive feedback and the item was marked as delivered on Ebay but I had to wait for payment.

In my case, the buyer had left feedback almost immediately upon receipt.

Then, the tracking on Ebay 'caught up' with Royal Mail tracking and showed delivery on Ebay.

However, because my buyer left feedback BEFORE tracking on Ebay showed delivery, I had to wait the two days.

No.

Probably not even 24 hours.

However, because the buyer left feedback really promptly it was before Ebay tracking caught up so I had to wait.

It does say 'funds will be available instantly if positive feedback is received from the buyer after delivery confirmation.

In my humble opinion that's ridiculous...the order shouldn't make any difference.  If the payout is automated that surely should still trigger the payment.

I do agree, however, in this case, Ebay are sticking to their own terms and conditions:

Item marked as delivered on Ebay

Buyer leaves feedback

You get paid.

Or,

Buyer leaves feedback

Item marked as delivered on Ebay

You wait 48 hours.

I don't like bad grammar but 'them's the rules'.
