Hi fellow sellers,
I've been selling on eBay since 2013 and have seen the platform evolve over the years — both the good and the challenging parts. However, I’m currently facing a situation that has left me confused and frustrated.
The item was delivered to the buyer a long time ago, and they have even left positive feedback, yet the funds are still on hold — for over a month. As a small seller, this creates a significant financial burden. I’m forced to ship items using my own funds and then wait indefinitely to receive payment.
I understand the need for safety and trust in online marketplaces, but this current system feels unsustainable for small sellers. eBay customer support has unfortunately not offered any clear solution so far — each reply ends with "this is the policy."
Has anyone here faced a similar issue and found a working solution?
Is there any way to manually request a fund release once delivery is confirmed and feedback is received?
I’d really appreciate any advice, shared experiences, or ideas. Maybe together we can push for improvements that better support sellers like us.
Best regards,

I can't help but in terms of "this is the policy." what are they saying is the issue? e.g. verifying your bank? verifying your identity? queries over the item?

You need to contact Ebay Customer Services.
This is a UK member to member forum and you are based in Latvia.
Without access to your account, nobody will be able to explain what the issue is or help you to resolve it.
Contact Ebay.

Hi j.a2525, thanks for your post.
There are very few reasons for funds to be held for more than 30 days, so this sounds very particular. If you confirm the item number, I can take a look for you and see what's happening.
Thank you,
Marco
