Can't sign in to Paypal keep getting Captcha requests that I pass but then nothing happens

I hope someone can help me with this

I have been attempting to pay for an auction I won for a few hours

I seem to be able to log in to PayPal with my ID and password, the problem is that it them says that I need to prove I'm not a robot

I click the Capcha box, get the green tick

Then nothing

It keeps happening again and again and I can't get past the green tick stage

Can anyone please help?

Thank you

I managed to sort it out by reducing the protection of my malware software

I had an option to reload the page with reduced protection and it worked

Hopefully this might help someone else if they encouter the same problem

Hi this can happen if you are using an old version browser. If so download new version and try again.

@butlintony

I recall experiencing a similar issue several months ago, though it actually stopped happening after a few weeks without me making any permanent changes so I have no idea what the root cause was.

Essentially the issue was that my eBay-to-PayPal link failed to connect and I was unable to login and pay for items. After a bit of digging around it seemed the cause was a rather over-enthusiastic anti-virus and I found that temporarily disabling it for 10 minutes gave enough time for me to be able to login to PayPal from eBay and pay for the item (actually it only took a couple of minutes, after which I re-enabled the anti-virus).

It might work for you so it could be worth a go. Other than that it could actually be one of those occasions when clearing cache and cookies works...

ps. The above is written on the assumption that you're using a laptop, not the App. I don't use the App so am unable to give advice in respect of its use.
