Best Offer not deducting coupon offers?

I purchased an item yesterday through the "Best Offer" option and I applied a coupon for £5 off when I made my offer which was accepted by the seller. 

The payment was automatically taken from my account. However,  the coupon reduction price was not deducted from the total price.

Anyone had similar experiences?

I believe with offers,  coupons are not accepted overall.

If that is the case why offer a coupon field on the best offer page? and when entering the coupon code why should the code be accepted and show my offer price reduced by £5?

Hi cdhs_archive, thanks for your post.

@tressygirl above is right, not all coupons are accepted as they all have different T&C's. If this one wasn't valid it wouldn't discount the amount in question, and you should not take in the code of the coupon. If you wish, you can go your summary page, and check the T&C's of your coupon to see where and how you could use it as per its T&C's.

My question is with this particular Ebay listing it clearly stated that the item had a code of £5.00 off with code SPEND2SAVE, and the code did work and deducted £5 off my best offer price. My offer price was for £55 and the code reduced this to £50, so I presume the code was valid because it applied the discount?

The problem is, because "best offer" transactions are automatically deducted from the buyers account there seems to be a glitch in Ebay system by not to deducting the coupon code and I had to pay £55. This is very unfair because the price that was stated before I submitted my offer was incorrect.

Discount coupons can be used in conjunction with offers, including when using pre-authorised payment, but as advised you do need to check the terms carefully. 

One thing to check is whether the coupon was still valid at the time the offer was actually accepted.  It may of still been valid at the time you added it to your offer but if the offer isn't accepted in time then it won't be processed.

I think tressygirl is correct.Iv'e never had a coupon accepted when iv'e made an offer.

Did you add the coupon when making your offer to send to the seller? I would understand if you missed the option to enter the coupon when making your offer.
