un ordered item delivered to me

Hi Folks ,I recently received an item (not a cheap throwaway) that I had not ordered via e-bay.I called e-bay and they could not find the tracking number from the Royal Mail label on their system.It had a RM tracked label with my name and address but I had not received any tracking info and also the label stated 1kg but the item weighs much more and I know RM are fussy about weight .The box contains a name and address ,E-bay basically said do nothing ,should I contact the apparent sender and if this is a scam how does it work ,I'm baffled .tHA

Contact the sender if you can but don't be fobbed off to send it to the correct buyer the seller must send you the money to post it back them and they post it on.

Or repack it write UNKNOWN RETURN TO SENDER  on the front and the return address on the back and hand back to the postie or PO.

There is a scam it's called a Brushing Scam, Google it and see if it applies here.
