The important question is how did he pay?
If by cash, cheque or bank transfer the sale is not covered by eBay's money back guarantee so he would not be able to win his case. Any dispute would be between the two of you.
If he paid through eBay checkout he can open a case for a refund. If you sold it for delivery and can't provide online tracking proof of delivery (as eBay requires) they will probably automatically require you to refund him. Or if he changes the case to claim that it isn't as described, eBay generally takes the buyer's word against the seller's - although in this case he would first have to return the item to you.
If you find a buyer's behaviour threatening you should report this to the police.
Good luck. I hope it all works out.

2 weeks ago he would have had to pay through checkout and the seller should have insisted on the collection code. Still wouldn't have prevented a SNAD though.

As a business seller, you would have to accept a return for any reason, but as you have no tracked proof of delivery, or a code to prove delivery, you would end up having to refund.

Thanks
You should never allow collection of an item listed for posting. If necessary you cancel and relist for collection and then the buyer gets a collection code.
