I recently purchased an item through ebay and contacted the seller through Messenger on google.  I paid for the item through Paypal, I have not received the item, Ebay have no trace of the transaction and Paypal will not refund any money paid although I have a receipt and an transaction ID number.  I think I have been scammed and you get no help from Ebay or Paypal so it looks like I won't be using this method ever again and I'll ensure all my friends & family are aware how no one will help me as a 78 year old pensioner I feel this is a disgrace.  Companies continually tell us we have to keep up with technology but when we get a problem no one will put themself out to help.

Both eBay and PayPal provide 30 day buyer protection if you don't receive what you have paid for.

So if all else fails through eBay - and assuming you paid within the last 30 days - you should be able to log in to PayPal and file an item not received dispute. Why would they not help?

Why you can't find the transaction on eBay is not clear. If you paid as a guest it won't be recorded in your account, but you will still have a record of the transaction and can use eBay's 30 day money back guarantee. If the seller persuaded you to pay them direct, i.e. not through eBay's checkout you won't be able to make any claim through eBay.

If you can clarify exactly how and when you paid someone here will be able to give you more complete advice.

so some one is using ebay to scam people,i think they should look into
that,in the mean time i am contact in the police and BBc crime watch to
report this scam

Did you pay through ebay checkout or direct to sellers PayPal? 

If direct to PayPal, ebay won't help as you did an off ebay deal.
