I recently sold an item, however the buyer found a fault and requested a refund which I agreed to, but in addition to me paying for the return l;abel, Ebay also charged me the entire purchase price , and sent it to the buyer as a refund. Do I also have to cover the Ebay's comission from the sale? Surely that's not right?

Fo a "not as described" return eBay will refund the entire original payment (item and postage) and sellers pays return postage. If you accepted the return ebay would normally refund the selling fee.

Please see @**peaseblossom** reply.
As long as you used the money back guarantee correctly and within the timescales you will get a fee credit which comes separately [although I seem to recall that eBay keeps the 30p].

If all done correctly through ebay case.
When you receive item back & refund through case, you click refund & ebay take net amount from you and they refund buyer the fee amount, so buyer gets full refund and no fees for you.
