"Item damaged beyond repair" -- what now?

I'll make this short and sweet.

As the title suggests, I sold an item to a buyer who paid using Ebay's Simple Delivery and buyer protection.

I sent it via Evri, who then a few days later said that it was damaged beyond repair, and that I should contact Ebay who would handle my refund.

The buyer was getting very impatient, so I explained the situation and issued the refund to them, which meant that fortunately I didn't receive any negative feedback.

Now, I don't know how to contact Ebay about this, because Evri have said that they have nothing more to do with this. Does anyone know where I can get the ball rolling and contact them? The website and AI are very frustrating.

Thank you.

If it was a Simple Delivery label you should not have made the refund.

Your buyer should have opened an eBay return and selected the 'Arrived Damaged' reason, and then eBay would have made the refund. That's the bonus of having Simple Delivery.

Maybe contact eBay and ask them if there's a way of getting refunded here?

I’ve found that the easiest route to contact eBay Customer Services is via the link below where you can request a call back:
