Hello, please help.

I sold an item on Ebay in July of 2024 for £83. I sent the order off, and got proof of delivery etc.

in november of 2024, the buyer made a complaint to paypal (not ebay) they did not recognise the sale, and i reponded by filling in the complaint pointing out i had proof of delivery and that it was well over the 90 days.

My money has been on hold ever since, i have been chasing up with ebay every week for updates, but all i ever get is that they cant do anything because paypal are able to withhold the money and they cant do anything about it. i dont even have a paypal account, i tried talking to them directly, but without an account they wont engage with me at all. Ebay told me they had 8 weeks to respond, but that date has now been and gone, i dont know what else i can do.

Any advise greatly recieved, i have contacted ebay many times, and last week was left on hold for over 30 mins before i gave up and ended the call.

If you had a tracking number showing delivery you were protected by eBay's Seller Protection against a PayPal not received chargeback.

You don't need a PayPal account, it's eBay you are dealing with here.

It's a shame that you didn't come here for advice before the 8 weeks you had to respond in expired, I feel that there may be nothing you can do at this point.
