I purchased a GHD Hairdryer from a seller who listed it as for parts because there was no heat coming from the hairdryer. After i received the hairdryer, confirmed it was genuine, repaired and serviced it, and relisted the refurbished hairdryer, as i have done for the last 6 years now.
Anyway, after 2 days of it being live, i got a listing violation from ebay and my item was hidden until i made a appeal. After i read through the potential reasons, i contacted ebay about it and the agent told me that because the plug did not include a rcd, it was dangerous to use. i disputed this because if that was the case then GHD would fit a RCD plug to it from the factory. I have been selling refurbished GHD items for the last 6 years on ebay and never had this problem before, i asked what i could do going forward and the agent told me i couldn't sell the hairdryer, i did point out to the agent that there is literally 100's of these hairdryers for sale on ebay and she told me "that's unfortunate for you" and said goodbye.
I've looked on the GHD website and they are still selling this model without a RCD plug, so it must pass the UK's legal requirement, are ebay just being a *bleep* and want sellers to leave their platform? How can i successfully appeal this? I've had enough of ebay nowadays with all the changes, some are really good changes and i applaud them, but others are just ludacris.
Any help appreciated
