item was marked as collect only, seller then cancelled

I bought a pick up only item, the seller then cancelled my order after payment and ebay is refusing my refund because they say the item needs to be delivered. It was listed as a no returns item. How do I get my money back? Ebay's complaint seems to be impenetrable.

The cancellation by the seller should have automatically generated the refund.

If not, then 7 days after purchase you use the money back guarantee and open a case for item not received. 

You won't be able to do that if you have already opened a case that requires you to return something (that you didn't have).  

Information on what steps you have actually taken would be useful.
