why despite selecting filters for sellers only in uk am i seeing listings for items from hong kong and china ?

You can't filter for sellers in the UK, only for items located in the UK.

Many sellers in China have a distribution base located in the UK.

(Some claim that items are located in the UK, but send them from China. This is reportable to eBay.)
