Why does Ebay immediately take refunds from the sellers balance and not from the pending transaction when the refund is for a pending transaction ... more profit for Ebay (which is ALL they are concerned about!!) on the interest they gain for holding your money for the two weeks they currently hold it for! I have traded through Ebay for 23 years, but about to leave!

Yep, that's how it set up to work.  Any money in the Available section of your Payment Summary is first used for fees / postage labels if purchased / refunds etc.
